[QUOTE="orcldba, post: 2055991, member: 67484"] I’ve always been a fan of the 308 Norma Mag, more so than the 300WM. Seems like you can push it more and I like the longer neck. But this thread is 308 WIN... For deer and factory 308 WIN loads, the cup and core 150/165/180’s loaded by Remington, Hornady, and Federal will all do the job thru 300 yards. The Remington core-loc’s are reliable, usually on sale (this year is an anomaly!), and “paper plate” accurate from 25-300 yards: 3” high at 100yd, 4-1/2” low at 300yd. All 5 shots on the paper plate with 3 different rifles (Mauser, Savage 110, & REM 700). Further out I go to the SGK or Interlocks. Not much more expensive, but require handloading, and it’s worth it.
