I've loaded 300 wm subs for ***** and giggles. With that case capacity you have you be very careful that you don't get a detonation instead of a burn when it comes to the powder. The only powder ive found to do this is trail boss. Trail boss is very safe and was designed for low pressure cartridges and with low press you get low velocity. You can use trail boss and it will work ok, getting a bullet to stabilize is another thing the longer heavy bullets work better because the more case capacity you use up with bullet the more consistent I've found trail boss to burn and certainly helps get your velocity down where you need it. 220 smk may stabilize buy a 210+ grain flat base round nose works best. I've used my 300 to shoot subs and take a couple coyotes that came in really close and with the subs you can do it without spooking everything within a mile plus I run suppressed so it's pretty darn quiet. Having a sub sonic 300wm has its place, esp if you get a target of opportunity and don't wanna scare off your game or carry two different guns. Or if your hunting close to your wife and dont wanna spook her deer over a coyote
