I pressure tested some 124gr hammer hunters back in February but am just now getting around to posting it. Adg brass 3x Fed 215M H4350 NT .001 Lee FCD 1/2 turn COAL 3.176” 124gr HH 80* 82 3579 83 3633 84 3665 EJ mark 85 no reading EJ mark Never ran into any bolt lift but stopped there. Recoil feels pretty light after shooting 215s. I have a little over 500 rounds through the barrel now. Been shooting 215s with the ultra 5 on exclusively lately with n570 and 215s, recoil is stout and it’s pretty hard to spot shots in a 10.7lb setup. With Hornady 300 PRC 212 eld-x factory ammo it’s not nearly as bad but also 200 fps slower. When I was using my terminator t3 brake it’s easy to spot shots but the blast/concussion on the shooter in my barrel length is pretty bad with that brake. I get a headache in 10 shots (Also it’s entertaining to see the look on friends faces after shooting with that brake on). I’ve never noticed this with terminator brakes and longer barrels or even with shorter barrel rigs using different brakes. So I may try a Salmon River Ti pro or a beast brake instead. Although I’m thinking when I get the stamp for my 338 ultra can in Il just use that as I’m sure it will take a lot more recoil out than the ultra 5 does so Il be able to spot shots better. And I’m not knocking the ultra 5 it’s great for a 9oz 5” lightweight can, just maybe not the best option for a lightweight 30 cal magnum.
