Hi, couldn't post anywhere other than here. so ill see if it attracs the right attention. I'm afraid something is wrong with my rifle. sometimes the bullet tumbles when i'm target practicing at 800 yards (i'm shooting with a Tikka m690, Norma full jacket 150 grain bullets, .30/06) The last two shots i made today the bullet hit the target sideways, yet still within a pretty decent grouping...(picture attached) so maybe the tumbling happens very close to the target? and how come it is only some of the shots ending up hitting sideways ? i shot at a 100 yards afterwards just to check if it happened there as well, but no problems there. Wondered if anyone here had experienced something similar, or if it is expected for the bullet to start tumbling at that distance with my setup ? On a side note, it was really windy the day i was shooting (im guessing around 20mph) dont know if that has anything to say with the tumbling? Thanks in advance.
