Hello,

For sale is my full custom 280 Sherman. I bought it a little over a year ago from another member here for $2,900. The rifle shoot's extremely well with 177 Hammer Hunters and H1000. Consistently half MOA or less. My load was over 2,900 fps. My understanding is that this cartridge was designed to shoot the 180 bergers and the like w/ample free bore so that you don't have to eat up case capacity like the 280AI. I can't verify, but I bet it would shoot that class of bullets very well. The COAL from the mag is just a touch over 3.515, so no issues feeding long bullets from the magazine, with plenty of freebore to chamber.

It feeds and functions absolutely flawlessly with very long loaded cartridges. That magpul magazine makes everything very smooth.

I am estimating the round count at roughly 650 rounds. That may be a tad high but there is plenty of barrel life left.

The rifle is light and more importantly, it balances very nicely and the recoil is very moderate with full power loads. It gets downright pleasant with the 140 class bullets.

I have purchased half a dozen or so rifkes from the classifieds here. A lot of them have some sort of quirk which is likely why they are being sold. That is not the case with this rifle. It is top of the line components, put together properly by a gunsmith. This rifle, is the real deal.

I'm selling it for two reasons. The first being that I have so many **** rifles I'm loading for that I don't want to spend the time to fire form new brass for it. I'm using the money to fund a 7 PRC build that's about a year out. Ballistically, there is only a moderate advantage to the PRC but it opens the door to good factory ammo. The second reason is that I just like new projects.

It has:
Proof 8 twist carbon barrel, 24 inches.
Stiller Predator long action.
Triggertech Primary
Magpul Magazine
Murphy Precision 20 MOA rail
Manners Carbon Stock, action is bedded.
Pic Rail
Some sort of radial break.

You would be in for at least 4 grand plus the wait time to build this rifle. If you're good with a wildcat, this is a steal.

RWS 270 brass is the best to use to form the cases. I had some Starline .270 and I went about forming a few when I realized the effort wasn't for me. I have 1-200 left, unformed, that I'll include. I also have the dies which are included in the sale.

To be clear this is not a 7mm Sherman Short. This is a 280 Sherman, based on the .270 case. It's performance is between the max and the SS.

$2,600 for a tack driving, premium rifle.

Any formed brass in addition to the virgin brass? Do you have load data for fire forming the virgin brass included?
