Look at it this way... The 28 nosler is awesome and when built right is a very very good round! even when pushed to its absolute limits and that's being done to see the chrono numbers people are showing and being done with powder that most aren't comfortable with( still a really good powder), and simply put I'm not buying them nearing 3200 or over with a 195 considering that encroaching on 7-338 lapua improved speeds,,, but it is what it is!! Now lets do it with a powder that all are comfy with and that retumbo or h1000 The 28 will run 3000-3040 in a 26 inch barrel 1-8.5 twist without shredding brass every other firing and making smiley faces on the head stamp saying (LOOK AT ME STUPID IM A MAJOR SIGN THAT YOUR DOING IT WRONG) LOL. here's what it will look like @1000 yards using legit drop tables that ive seen in the field when i test them to and past a 1000 yards! 28 nosler 1-8.5 200 zero 195 berger 3000 fps .755 bc 195 weight 45 deg temp 4000ft 25.03 pressure 19.4 moa elevation 3.1 moa for R to L wind @10mph 1793 ftlbs energy 2003 fps impact velocity 300 winny 1-10 200 zero 215 berger hybrid 3000 fps BC .696 45deg 4000 ft 25.03 pressure 19.8 elevation 3.4 moa R to L wind for 10mph impact velocity 1953 ft per second energy 1821 ft lbs Dam near identical and yes if you ramp the numbers in favor of the 28 it will look bad *** and yes the 28 is a bad *** round and stupid accurate but so is the 300 win. same could be done by comparing it to the 300 ultra with a 230!! but when apples to apples are compared and true drops are formulated out to and past a 1000 yards not readings from a chrono then the real numbers shine and it is what it is!
