I am on the fence as it would utilize a rifle that I like the feel and characteristics of and would still be extremely ultralight and if I do get to sheep hunt some day would be a great combination. Only downside is it is extremely accurate as it sets now. It wears a Swaro Z3 and is maybe 7lbs complete currently. The Z3 would have to be replaced if the change is made. Any thoughts on this?

[QUOTE="werth338, post: 1407036, member: 104514"] Let me throw this out there. Was visiting with a gunsmith that my friend uses in MO. They are building some 28s to run the big Berger and are waiting on the reamer they ordered to show up. It was a wide ranging conversation and by the end we had a potential idea that would need some research to see if it would work. I put together a Weatherby Outfitter in 270 Win for a lightweight sheep rifle. That trip isn’t going to happen so the rifle is just taking up space at the moment. It is a 6 lug action. We discussed potentially just taking the barrel off and replacing with a Proof Sendero Light. I think the mag box might be a little short for running the 175-180 gr bullets as my 6.5-300 at 3.57” was just a touch to long when I did a quick comparison last night.
