I found my reloading Data and saw that, Robbie Denning was using, 67 grains of RL-26 per my old notes ( 68 gr's was too Hot for, his Rifle ! ) and he was getting 3,357 FPS out of HIS Gun with, the 140 Berger's ( NOTE: the Berger Bullet has a SHORTER Bearing surface than, the 140 AccuBond, THUS, the higher Velocity, possibly ? ) His gun was a 26" bbl. Christiansen Arms Rifle, I believe. The Berger Data shows, 68.2 of RL-26 as Max and 3,184 FPS for Velocity,.. considerably less than Robbie's Chrono'd results ? Possibly a "fast" barrel or, bad chrono reading's ??? I do know that, RL-26 is serious, "Pixie Dust", in some Guns ! I already had, 3+ pounds of, IMR 7828 left over from, a 7mm Rem Mag. that, I had sold and my son thought that, I should try it first. Always work up loads carefully, as my load ( 64.7 grs IMR 7828 ) is a grain or so, under a couple of "sources" data, but is way over, Nosler's Load Data ! It is a SAFE load in MY Tikka, But at 65+ grains,.. pressure was starting to "show" and groups, opened up ! I have shot several 1 1/4 to 1 3/8 inch, 200 Yard, groups, so I am very happy with, this load. I polished my Bore and Throat with, JB's slathered on, a bronze brush, w/patch, when gun bbl was New and now, it cleans easily, looks like a Chromed Bore, as it's so shiny. The Tikka's have, quite long throat's and the AccuBond seems to like to "Jump" a bit ! You might try different seat depths ? Is your barrel good and clean, "Free floated" & Recoil Lug "bedded" ? Good luck with, your loads / Rifle and stay SAFE !
