Be very careful trying someone else load in your rifle. It may be OK in apexmtnman rifle but it is 5 grains over the max load given in the Hodgdon manual. But Retumbo is the first powder I would try if I were you. In my 264 Win mag with a Shilen 9 twist 27 3/4" barrel the max load in the Hornady manual of 67.5 grs Retumbo with 129 gr bullet had too much pressure with 130 Nosler Accubonds in my rifle. 66.5 gr Retumbo in a 264 WW case or a WW case reformed from 7mm Rem mag, CCI 250 primer, 130 Nos AB 10 thousands off the lands, average velocity 3350 fps and is a tack driver. I have taken 5 WT deer with it in the past two years from 80 to 250 yards and the bullet has worked perfectly. I would not hesitate to use it on an elk if I got the chance.
