I have been reading info on here for a couple years. Haven't posted much. I have a .260 Savage Model 11 with a Vortex Viper HSLR scope. I'm trying to work up a load with 130 gr Swift Scirocco II bullets because I like the 130 grain weight and speed combo along with the nice BC of the swift bullets. Eventually I may try some Nosler Accubond LR bullets but until they become easier to find I can go to a store locally and get the Sciroccos of the shelf. Anyway I started with Bergers OAL length method then moved to a 300 yard ladder followed by a second ladder. Current load is 43.7 gr of H4350 loaded to 2.151" ogive giving me velocities averaging 2830 fps. The problem is this load seems to have at random one or less shot per group that flies right 5-6" at 300 yards and I did not notice anything on the shot to make me suspect the accuracy of the shot. I also followed the same procedure with Ramshot Hunter hoping to get a load that would meter really well. Have only shot the hunter load at 100 46.3 gr loaded at 2.151" ogive. The hunter load is ever so slightly faster coming in at 2843 fps. The hunter may be starting to show signs of pressure on the primers but no other signs detected. If you have any suggestions please share. I would really like to get these bullets to fly great but am having a hard time improving much more than 1" +/- a little.
