[QUOTE="johnnyk, post: 901272, member: 307"] I tried the 75gn Sierra HP with IMR4064 and CCI BR2's. I tested from 47.5gn to 51.0gn in 1/2 increments. Velocity averages ranged from 3322 fps to 3611 fps. The best accuracy was @ 49.5gn (3543 fps) and was essentially one hole. These loads were developed in my .25-06 Sendero SF back in 2005. I did try the Hornady 75gn VMax with this same powder/primer combo but accuracy was never there like with the Sierra's. I have never really used it for varmints, other than the occasional crow, but it is hell on whitetails with the 115gn Berger VLD. Now that I have mentioned the Berger, let me just say if I were regulated to one bullet for the .25-06, be it varmint or deer, I would choose the 115gn VLD. These have shot "playing card" sized groups @ 700yds with my Sendero. That is "gud enuf" for ye ole ground hog setting at the back of the pasture. Great cailber and rifle. You're going to love it.
