Have always had a love for 22 Centerfire rifles, but my favorite has always been the 220 Swift. I was a late bloomer, introduced to that caliber in 1999 while stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Buddy of mine had a Ruger M77 in 220 Swift. It shot 1/2" consistently and he was committed to making it a 1/4" rifle. Had the opportunity to buy that one, but I was getting ready to be deployed so I passed on that opportunity. Always regretted those circumstances. Picked up a Remington 700 Varmint in that caliber last year, had it restocked with a Manners T7 stock and topped it with an Athlon Ares BTR. Not my buddies 1/2" rifle but with factory loads it shoots consistently between .6 and .7" at 100 yards. It has proved to be deadly out to 400 yards on jack rabbits. My Dad wasn't much of a shooter, but definitely reminds me of good friends and making new memories with my son.
