I searched a while for accuracy and/or hunting info and not a ton of detailed information or updated results. Found them on sale for $45 a box so I bought a few boxes to try.
My rifle is a Model 16, 10 twist 28" standard throat heavy varmint Mcgowan SS.
Im thinking H4831sc or 7828ssc to start but I also have rl17, h4350, imr4350, rl19, N160.
I'll probably try 210m or BR2 primers first before using 215m or cci 250s.

Im not sure yet if RL26 would be a good powder yet but I have Berger info. But this barrel has an affinity for Imr4350 (as opposed to h4350 oddly enough despite overwhelming praise for it in 300wsm) with 168 gr bullets.
I'm planning on using the 185 Hybrid for target out to 1200 yards primarily but wouldn't hesitate to use them for coyotes and whitetail .
Does anyone have any new precision loads they want to share? Also any hunting results with this particular bullet ? BTW, I'm not after blistering fast velocities just pin-point precision.

Well I loaded some H4350 and BR2 and seated the 185 HT .015 jump.
34° ,full value 10mph wind, front and rear bag.
200 yards.

That's pretty alright.

Are you talking the Hunting Hybrid #30571?

What is your COAL?

No. This is 185 Target Hybrid #30424. My COAL is right at 2.90" at .015" jump, as this is a standard throat. Still fits my Savage magazine.

Also, I recovered a few from the wet berm and they expanded and held together at 235 yards, I'll have to wash them and take a closer look and weigh them.

I'll be the first to admit that this is a slow barrel compared to my other 300wsm barrels. I'm trying some 7828ssc today for velocity sake.

The 3054fps you wrote on the target is less than %1 of my QL model.

The 7828SC seems like it will be slower.

I have not done much with RL26, it seems work the try for the same speed with lower pressure.

23, I use H4350 behind the 185 VLD .20 off with sub-1/2 MOA @ 200 yds. Seems like H4350 performs very well with several bullets of this weight in 300 WSM. H1000 may be good for the heavier offerings though. I'd like to try the 215 Berger in the 300 WSM, but it's my friend's rifle and he's way too happy as it is to try another bullet.

I run H4350 at about the charge weights on your targets
180 Nosler accubonds
F210M primer
Norma brass
2930 FPS out of a 24" barrel.
It is very accurate so I just go with it. I also use H4350 with 210 VLD at 2800 fps

I can get about 100 FPS faster with RL17 though. Has about the same accuracy too...

Just shot the 7828, it barely matched the h4350 velocity but exhibited similar pressures (???) with 210m primers up to 69.7 gr.
I might load some rl26 for reference, maybe 215M primers ?

Was your QL model with 28" bbl ???

My QL model indicated exactly that. My barrel on my 300WSM is 28" as well.

I'd stick with 210M or BR2 or CCI 200 rifle primers. I had much more consistent ignition that way. I save the 215Ms and CCI 250 mag rifle for longer cases like Weatherby, RUM, CheyTac and lager.

The model for RL26 is good but I have not loaded it yet. I've been playing with BIG calibers or Black Powder Metalic Cartridge. I made a couple BPMC 257 Roberts. Basically a 25-40 in black powder terms.

Tried some rl26 today. Berger lists 72.1 gr at 104% case fill. I don't know what brand brass they're using but I think their data is for 185 vld which is a shorter bullet. At 70.6gr and no pressure sighns I'm right at 99% case capacity without compression. I could possibly load up to 71.6 comfortably without pressure.
29° F
20 mph full to half value wind ( kind of swirling)
Have not adjusted the scope from the h4350 load.
Shot at 200 yards.

So far this bullet responds well to every powder I've tried . I'd really like to see someone with better shooting abilities and better benchrest bags to shoot this rifle /bullet combo.

The wind was killing me today, I tried to shoot fast enough to get all shots down range in similar conditions but I'm not that fast. One of those days I'd rather have shot at 100 yards.
Anyway, RL26 is producing terrific ES and SD!
