I am trying to find a good load with the 180g Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertips in my Remington LSS .300 RUM and am having some form of difficulty. This is the only bullet that this rifle is having a hard time shooting good. The best is 1 1/4" and averages are about 1 1/2" for 3 shots at 100 yards. I am using my trusty H-1000 and have went from 94g up to 99g in 1g increments and OAL's from 3.6" to 3.660" all to no avail. I am getting 3390fps from the 99g load though. What would you do first, change the powder or primer or what?? I was thinking of trying RL-25, Retumbo, or IMR-7828. I was leaning towards Retumbo because I think it is temp insensitive and I have heard/read that RL and IMR powders are temp sensitive. I really really want a good 180g BT load for my .300 RUM, it will be my mule deer load.
