I've been using 129, 142, 150, 168, 190 gr ABLRs since they came out. I load them in 260rem, 280rem, 7mm rem mag, 300wby. We have killed 19 elk with them in the past 6 years, 17 of those were with the 142 & 150 gr ABLRs. I stopped shooting the magnums after I saw how my sons' 260 and 280 performed out to 630 yards. All elk have been DRT no tracking. We've also taken dozens of deer (WT & Muleys) and Antelope with them. I did recover a 142 and 150 from their elk this year but have not weighed them yet. The 142gr from 260rem was mid front shoulder big cow at 450 yards. It went through near side shoulder blade and offside bone and was in the off side skin, perfect mushroom. The 150gr from 280rem was medium size cow mid shoulder at 530 yards broke both leg bones and was just under the offside skin, perfect mushroom. I fussed at them for the terrible shot placement because I like lung shots best, no wasted meat.;) But it has been the same story with everything we've shot from 50 yards to 630 it's all been DRT. Get the 142s fill it up with H1000 or 4831 and go shoot animals with the confidence that if you do your job they will do theirs.
