"Man I'd think you're leaving a lot on the table settling at that speed. My 6.5creed runs 140s at 2900 from a 24" barrel using rl26. My 6.5x284 run 156s @ 2980 from a 26" barrel using rl26. VV N165 is a very stable and cool burning powder, but it's on the slow side. I like to avoid sticky bolt lifts, & expanded primer pockets and keep chamber pressures under 62K psi; 55 gr. of VV N165 is the limit and about 4.5 to 5 grains over max shown in Hornady & Berger manuals for N165 & 140 grain bullets. All the loads shown for 6.5-.284 Norma data using N 165 & 140's don't exceed 2850. I am sorry that I don't have access to pressure testing equipment or RL26. The target/load shown is 53 gr. of H1000, 2 grains under Hodgdon max and probably develops 2,750 fps from my 26 inch barrel. This load has won many informal 600 yard contests and is super sonic out to 1,000 with extremely uniform velocities. Probably, 35 fps loss per inch barrel length. The Barnes Match Burner is a super good bargain and rates right up with other bullets. .
