Has anyone gone to their site? It's currently sitting at $8,221.75. $2,505 in ammo from Midway USA $2,425 for the Nightforce $4,930 in just those two things. I know most people load, myself included, I've bought less then 400 rounds of factory ammo in the past ten years, but not everyone does. So with a few minutes if searching, I've found the price is $3,291.75 for the rifle, doesn't seem terrible to me. That's not taking into account the discount for suppressor, hard case, custom turret or their class. In today's society, I feel that as firearms owners we need to band together. I'm sure everyone here that sells a firearm doesn't want maximum value for it, but this business does. The American way is to set your own price and feel confident in it. Was it a mistake for them to send an email out for a 14k rifle? Heck yes, but they amended that quickly after listening to the shooting public. Does Remington keep their ear to the shooting forums like this? Don't know if they would have gone belly up if they did... Will I buy one? No way, but I'm proud to be part of an industry where they can offer their products for what they want. Band together, this is the time we need to be unified more so than ever. Just a poor guy from Maine's opinion, it's worth as much as you paid for it.. SHM
