pre chambered barrel

Speaking hypothetically: if I had a new JGS reamer that had more freebore than desired and I sent it back to jgs with dummy rounds for it to be ground for a shorter freebore to match those dummy rounds, would that be just as good as getting a whole new reamer made? I guess what I'm asking is the...
