How do you like deer sausage? Hot or mild?

Big fan of a jalepeno cheese with a little bit of ground Serrano pepper in it for heat and a bit of Mexican flavor. Not so much it becomes overwhelming in heat, but enough to give the Serrano flavor

What makes your decision to sell a rifle?

I sell a rifle when I either find something that I like better than the previous one, or when I don’t have enough money in my bank account. Only two reasons for selling for me.

    McGuire Ballistics Field Reports

I’ve noticed with them that group size changes a lot more with slight powder charge changes than seating depth. Changing powders likely also has an effect so it might just not like the pressure curve of the powder you’re using. Try minimal neck tension with a seating depth of the case mouth...

    McGuire Ballistics Field Reports

Neck tension in terms of just interference diameters alone means very little. What is your bullet diameter, neck length, and neck wall thickness? For example my 257 weatherby I’m getting .001 neck tension and it seems to hold perfectly well under recoil, however there’s 2 things that greatly...

    Defiance old vs new

Only complaints I’ve ever heard about defiance have been pricing. I’m not a dealer and don’t know any defiance dealers well, so I haven’t heard anything about the dealer treatment for good or bad. But their actions have always been excellent.

120gr or 140gr 6.5mm Gold Dots for Deer?

I can pretty much assure you that you won’t notice a difference under 500 yards with their effectiveness on game. The 140 is higher BC, go with that if you intend on shooting further for its higher energy retention, velocity retention, and resistance to wind drift. If shooting 400 and in, the...

    Yellowstone Touron

One time I was in Custer state park SD a few years ago, and a bunch of tourists stopped ahead of me BLOCKING THE ROAD while I was on my motorcycle. Some bison had their ears back and were walking straight at me very calmly. I put my bike in gear and went into the ditch around the cars and...

12 gauge Stackguns for upland-what do you like

To me and what I’ve used this far, nothing beats the Browning Citori 725 Skeet. But that’s not because it’s a browning or anything, that particular gun just happened to fit me absolutely perfectly and I really liked its balance. I have felt the 825 version and it feels nice but haven’t owned nor...

    Opinions on chronograph's

So far I’ve really been enjoying my Athlon. The fact that it’s cheaper than the Garmin and comes with a nice carry case seals the deal for me

257 weatherby with 110 accubond at 3600 fps

Furthest I've seen was my dad shot a doe at about 100 yards with a 20 gauge slug, and the deer ran about 150 yards before collapsing. Upon the "autopsy" we found the heart was shaped like a crescent moon with the slug having gone directly through the middle of it. The deer was already spooked up...

Annealing... who does and who doesn't?

I only anneal if I'm fireforming brass from a different diameter neck, I push brass just hard enough I wear out primer pockets before necks usually, so I've stopped. However if I notice a load cracking necks or shoulders again, I'll start annealing every 5 firings or so. I haven't annealed any...

Couldn't pass up 280 Nosler rifle

It works in a 7 mag if you run 195’s, slower than alternatives but due to being a ball powder you can fit quite a bit of it in the case. Probably too slow for 175’s on down, but Us869 is plentiful, cheap(er), and not hard on barrels, so it’s worth a try if you’ve got a bullet you want to try...

Couldn't pass up 280 Nosler rifle

US869 works great in 28 nosler, just not nearly as temp stable as N570 and for me it ran about 50-100fps slower. It’s a lot better on your barrel life though and while it’s not temp stable it’s pretty predictable in velocity drops/gains with temp changes.

I am training very, very hard for this to become my next new mountain based activity.

It was filmed, they use AI built into the camera to hide the camera pole mounted to his helmet. The real life setup looks something like this and there is a 180° camera on both sides of the camera body, to see “through” the pole. It doesn’t see through everything so it uses algorithms to fill in...

New ELR Bullets (Monos) from Forster ...

None of them really blow me away by any means but I’m always glad to have more options. Competition is great

I am training very, very hard for this to become my next new mountain based activity.

The helmet is the mounting point for the 360 camera he is using. It’s not AI, the distortion around his helmet is from the camera using its predictive algorithm to make the pole attachment for the camera appear invisible. Since it’s not perfect there’s some artifacting

I am training very, very hard for this to become my next new mountain based activity.

That black spot on his helmet is a pole that sticks out to where the camera is. The camera uses an algorithm to make the pole appear invisible and fills in the data on what it can’t see. The camera itself films in 360° vision, and when you edit the footage you zoom in on what you want to be...

Eye lens replacement - can you see thru scopes?

While this won’t help with cataracts or astigmatism, the idea that eyes get worse as you age isn’t fully true. There’s exercises that you can help you greatly. The title is kindof clickbait but the video itself is full of great info backed by many research papers, and I’ve been following it...
