I liked my first Savage 110 bolt handle from Glades Armory in Florida so much that on January 23 I ordered a second one for my other Savage 110. I assumed I would get it in 3 to 5 days. A week at most. But repeated tracking messages reported that it was delayed by weather but failed to disclose where it was presently. Finally, the delay message this morning disclosed its present location – a USPS facility in Puerto Rico (***??). Will it ever make it to me here in Texas? Who can say?
Note to self: avoid USPS shipping if you can.
 
Dad retired from the postal service and was proud to be. He is rolling over in his grave 100%.

He and his high school class mate ran the joint. She was savant like, knowing entire friends and family trees of seasonal homes. Dad would change his route and make time for a beer with a lonely vet on their porch or pick up a bag of groceries for shut ins. Venison was routinely delivery to the folks over the mountain. Wednesdays he picked up a lady who walked down the dirt road a mile or so. She spent the day in town and he drove her up to the house with her supplies on his way home to us.

I mailed a package of brass to someone here Friday. I had to lean in, lip read and use my memory of the process to understand what the girl was saying. She was so board with the English language, her job and tongue ring to boot I wanted to throttle her.

Hope you get your package soon!! It used to be easier...
 
Well, my wayward bolt handle finally decided to return from the sun and sand of its Puerto Rican vacation. It just arrived and I'll be assembling it on my bolt tomorrow. The design and workmanship of these "tactical" bolt handles for Tikkas and Savages from Glades Armory is exactly like I wanted. Just wish the USPS hadn't dropped the ball.

My bolt handle from JA Outdoors started out less than 300 miles from me at the beginning of the week. Somehow it found its way to Massachusetts and is held up there until the British Army is defeated at Bunker Hill on Monday. Aa-aa-ahhh, the USPS!
 
Still no bolt handle and no movement from the East coast. I bet it's due to the package being small enough to easily get lost. C'mon USPS you can do better than that!

The thing is, I'm not sure they can. I recently had an argument with our local postmaster who assured me my package had been delivered because the carrier scanned it while at my mailbox. It was new, full set of plastics for a 250 dirt bike, my mailbox is approximately 6" tall and 18" deep.

🤣 Your mailman saw a need and fulfilled it... his! Oh, and your postmaster either covered for him or needed some of those parts. Background checks? Naw!
 
I have no issues with the USPS but I do have complaints about FedEX. Ordered 500 195 Bergers from Midsouth Shooters Supply. They shipped FedEx. Got a notice they were to be delivered Thursday. Got notice that night that they attempted delivery but no one was home to sign. That was complete BS, because I was home all day. My Ring doorbell rings my phone and the camera records video all day. Took me an hour to finally get someone from FedEx on the phone. He said the reason it wasn't delivered is the driver didn't know the gate code and hit the wrong reason on his iPad. This is the second time this has happened, even though my profile on FedEx clearly shows the gate code.

Never happens with UPS and most USPS stuff goes into a big lock box; if it doesn't fit, our mailman delivers it to the door.
 
I ordered a barrel from Colorado April 27, I'm in Washington state. As of May 7 it was in Juneau, AK, left there the 7th and apparently is still "on its way to the next facility".
