(MORE PICS ADDED DUE TO SEVERAL REQUESTS OVER PAST TWO DAYS) I've got a Savage 260 that was put together out of their Special Order desk several years back. This is Savage's version of their custom shop. It's based off of a stainless Model 16 (bolt) action. Heavy, fluted, 24 inch stainless barrel. Accutrigger. Detachable stainless box magazine. Black synthetic stock with two forward studs (and one rear), Karsten adjustable cheek piece and a nice recoil pad. It's currently topped with an older, Leupold VX III 6.5-20x50 scope. with mil dot reticle. I believe the picatinny rail on it is 20 MOA. I had this put together to use as my long range practice rifle but never really put it to good use. Probably has less than 150 rounds down the tube. Easily shoots sub MOA. Although I really like this rifle, it just sits in the safe and I think it's time to let someone else actually enjoy it.
$800 plus split shipping for rifle only. $950 for rifle and scope plus split the shipping. (bi-pod not included).
Just to be clear: Despite any back-channel PM discussions/negotiations, the first public "I'LL TAKE IT" out-trumps all other offers. This is also listed on another website so the same applies there too. Timestamp will be the deciding factor if multiple offers arrive close to each other.

Thanks Rum Man. Ballistically, the 260 Rem is almost identical to the 6.5 CM. Hard to say why the 260 never caught fire and the 6.5 CM did.
It's a nice rifle for sure. This was designed to be a 1000 yd plinker.

Answer: Remington. Advertising and ammunition offerings were so
feeble that it made one wonder why they came out with it in the first place.

Great cartridge also!

Nice rifle! Hope it sells quickly for you.

wbm; No doubt; there are zillions of factory loads for the 6.5 CM and almost none for the 260 Rem. Having said that though, a lot of people do their own loads so that is not an issue once they've obtained some good brass. Beyond that, the resale price of the 260s are commensurately lower (a "best buy" for purchasers) for those same reasons. A semi-custom rifle such as this one in a Remington or a 6.5CM would be listed considerably higher than I'm asking for mine. Thanks again for your insight.

Several inquiries, and trade offers as well as a cash offer but still available.

Nice rifle. I already have two 260s. A CTR and a Mil Spec 5R Gen 2. Great round. Debating whether to sell the CTR or rebore it to a 358.

Surprised this is still here.

Funny thing on these sites: It'll sit and sit and then all of a sudden there will two or three people who all want it all at once. If the weather breaks a little and I take it out and shoot it, it may very well stay right where it is. These Savages are shooters and this one a darn nice custom package.
