The Staball is the best powder by far for me out of my .270 for velocity. I am at 3200 fps with a 24 barrel and 3150 out of a .22 inch barrel with 130s. That said I read somewhere that Hodgon told someone it wasn't recommended in the 25-06 for case fill reasons not hitting a certain...
Maybe just the way it worked for me and my eyes. I think it had plenty. It was just dumb position I shot from and I had it dialed up. However, the Burris had a bit better listed eye relief and for me at least an inch better for me even when using equal magnifications.
I chronoed a maxed compressed load of 156 Bergers Elites at roughly 3000 fps with Retumbo in a stock Mauser 18 and no pressure. When I sighted the gun in last year only the 147 H match were available but it shot .5 inch groups with H4831SC. If the Bergers shoot even close to that it is a...
The Viper I picked up is a 4x16 that I got on black Friday for $240. Its eye relief is not very good. I put it on an .300 Win Mag Interarms Mauser that I picked up in a services trade. Made the mistake of trying a prone shot at a bad angle and about got knocked out and had an embarrassing case...
The old Weaver Grandslams and Superslams are Japan LOW glass. They are heavy but solid and an incredible optical value for their ebay price. Particularly in the 6.5 x 20 Grand Slam or 4x20 SuperSlam. I dont usually think that a hunting scope over 12 or 14 power is worth it unless you are...
There is absolutely no issue at all. Its just that the value ratio isn t there. The Burris at the same price or used VXII at slightly higher is double the scope. I have both a Diamondback, and Viper and I dont think Vortex catches up until the Viper Line and even then the eye relief and...

Depends on what you are getting it in. Anything that has a Parallax the E1 is hands down better because of the side adjust. The glass is indentical in both.
I have both the 3 to 9 Fullfield II and the Fullfield E1s. I dont see the bigger scope caps or the grippier zoom being a huge...
I would just say that I think the Fullfield is underated and compares pretty good with the VX II at half the price. But you can't ever go wrong with the old Leupolds II or III.
Get you a Burris Fullfield II or Fullfield E1. They are cheap and perform double or triple their value. Solid Optics, same warranty as Vortex, and the Fullfield II is 13 ozs which really is only beat by a couple of Leupold 3-9s that cost 5 times as much. You can pick up the regular fullfield...
I saw part of Vortex Podcast on it. They claim that per the military contract everything is required to be made, sourced, and assembled in the U.S. from the lenses on down. I don't know if that is good or bad for the quality but it sure will be for the price with each part made under the...
.280 AI no question. I just got sidetracked by the idea of a .300 WSM and the fact he already has a 6.5 PRC that is an equal if not better option to that for his intended purpose. Get a .280 AI in fast twist and that is as versatile as it comes. Now a .270 AI with a fast twist....No I won't...
The creedmore is a joke. The .300 Win Mag outpaces the velocity to start by 300 fps. Do the same thing with a 156 in a PRC shooting the same starting velocity as the Win Mag and the PRC is scientifically the better option starting at 300 yards if you go by ME and velocity retention. Unless...
Just make sure you have them tight enough and it doesn't matter. When I was a teenager I got all excited about barely necking my reloads and seating as far out as I could. Put in a round and decided not to shoot on opening day and ended up with bullet stuck and a magazine full of 4831...lol...
