7 x 47 Lapua is a suggestion. I have a friend that built one on a Rem short action. He has harvested 2 deer with 120 Barnes TSX. It shoots great and fits nicely in the magazine.

Good point on the reamer and brass posted by Jud96! There are a couple differences in the body sizes that exist. Be sure that you match your brass(Norma, Lapua vs. Win style) with your reamer design. I designed my reamer based on the Lapua (6.5-284) brass. I haven't used the Peterson brass yet...

I had the same dilemma 2 years ago and I settled on a 284 win. I ordered a reamer (lapua based) from JGS, stock from AG composites, 143 Hammer bullets, and now I have my favorite deer/antelope rifle.

Check out the Maven Optics C series. Outstanding value. Cut out the middleman. They have won many awards in comparison.
