    Purpose built Pronghorn rifle

I would consider a 7mm Wea. with what ever twist you like.. Mine has a 1-10.. Last time I checked it shot 160s at just under 3250 fps.. It has been a great rifle on everything from coyotes to Moose,, Brass is easily made from 7mm RM brass..

What is everyone favorite caliber for deer?

Enjoyed reading this thread.. Not finished with all of it.. Have to get back and do that.. Shot my first with a 94 .32 Special.. Still have it.. Also the old .30-06.. A bunch with the .300 WM and 7mm Mags.. My last four deer have been shot with my late wife's 7mm RM, my grandfather's m. 54...

    22 Cal's legal in WYO

While I can see the reasoning of the 60 grain requirement..FMJ's are all ready not legal for game..To me if .22 cal. are legal, then the bullet wt. requirement is just not required..It makes NO SENSE..I cannot shoot antelope or deer with a 55 grain Serria or Hornady, and they are very deadly on...

    22 Cal's legal in WYO

Over the years, we have shot alot of big game with various .22 centerfires ..Starting with the .22 Hornet up though the .22 Cheetah..In those days we often hunted several states each fall, and those rifles were legal there..While we never experienced a problem..I do wonder about some clown...

    Bullet for elk ?

EK338, good advice..too bad more do not follow it..I cannot for the life of me see shooting big game with less than an ideal caliber and bullet..in years past, people had to make do with what they had, but that is not the situation today...I prefer a good heavy caliber rifle for antelope, deer...

    Bullet for elk ?

Michael, I think I would still stick with Accubond...even in 150 it will stick together according to my pals..one of my former students shot a bull with a 150 out of a .30 caliber mag...excellent results...the only true failures I have had on elk have been with Serrias when I had to shoot though...

    Bullet for elk ?

Shot a bunch of elk with Serria bullets...punch the lungs and they are done...but I don't like them if I have to shoot though the shoulder or a quartering away shot...for distance and penetration, I am going to try Accubonds in my .30 cal. rifles...I have shot several elk with this bullet in my...

    .223 Loads for Coyotes

The .223 is not my primary coyote rifle, but h4895 has been perfect with a number of bullets 50 grain Blitzking, 52 grain Speer hollowpoint, or 55 grain Hornady....

120 grain in 7mm rem mag load

Those two were the powders I would go with....120's are a great coyote load...I started my wife shooting 7mmRM with these bullets...deadly on antelope.......

    300WM bullet weight problem

300, I have shot lots of Hornady bullets...their Vmax is one of my favorites, but in other calibers...honestly, I have gotten a bit better accuracy with Serria and Nosler in 30 cal than Hornady...BUT I have shot many more of those also... As for the heavier bullets in the .300 they are also...

    300WM bullet weight problem

My experience with the .300's was a bit different than Barts...I have shot my old one since 1970 and it is on its 3rd barrel..all are 1-10 twist...for the 150s, try 150 grain Serria Flat Base or Nosler BTBT...with a charge of IMR 4350 and CCI Mag. primers...this has been accurate in all my Wins...

    7 Rem Mag ammo?

I seldom shoot factory ammo unless it is something unusual..like old stuff..,but a few years ago I shot in a cheap .270 for a friend of mine...he bought Fed.blue box ammo, and it shot super...I think if I wanted new brass, that would be the road I would take..I was checking the stocks to see if...
