It appears Bill T didn't like the results at accuratereloading.com, so he started the thread again on huntamerica.com in the riflesmithing section.
Will someone please send him a video and shut him up?
I think it is great for practicing "follow-through". Concentrating on follow-through can also keep your mind occupied so as to counteract flinching.
It is also good to know your trigger. The less supported the position you use, the more vital this is to a good shot.
I agree with Gary. It sounds like you happened to shoot those .22 bullets when the wind was more steady.
A few weeks ago I was sighting in my .308 in high, gusty wind (about 10-20). I shot a 1.5" group at 200, and a 0.8" group at 300. Go figure.
It's all in the wind.

It seems that more benchresters favor the 6.5-284, but I would think brass would be easier to get for the 06 case.
What are the pro's and cons of either case? Is there a noticeable "inherent accuracy" difference between these two cartridges?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the replies.
It does seem the 6.5's have come into their own, and they definitely have a good selection of bullets. This is a tough decision because it sounds like both cartridges are excellent performers. I am afraid to even mention the 6.5-06 improved. The decision is already...
I agree that a knockdown on big game is most likely some kind of shock to the CNS that causes them to be unable to stand, either for a moment, or for good. I have never witnessed such a hit.
