Heavy gun. Need a good sling/carry strap for Western hunting

The backpack sling is the same. With a backpack it's hard to take the gun off you back without it hanging up on something. The gun scabbard is the only way if you need a pack but it moves my turrets on my Viper PST so you have to reset em before a shot

Heavy gun. Need a good sling/carry strap for Western hunting

The backpack sling worked. You have to play with it a bit and adjust it just right. Last year on my hunt in CO. I scaled up and down a 25 wall of mt above tree line to get to elk below. Was able to do it every day and hiked an average of 8 miles with my 12lb rifle on my back. It worked well. It...

    Best Boots for highcountry hunting

Well after lots of reading I think the German boots are awesome. Hanwag, Lowa , Meindl. The Italians make great boots to Kenetrek, Schneis, Scarpa and a few more I can't spell. All are great so it comes down to trying them out to see which one fits you best. I'm going to order them 2 at a...

    Best Boots for highcountry hunting

I found that info from plugging in Meindl vs. in my google browser. I dont remember which site but i think it was an Oregon or Washington forum. There were complaints that the rand peels off. Also saw one where it ruined a guys hunt cause water kept getting in after just one season of use...

    Best Boots for highcountry hunting

Been having fun researching and learning about boots. I've spent well over 4hours comparing and am close to pulling the trigger. For anyone reading this in the same situation. Here's what I learned. This is unbiased by me cause I have no loyalty to any of these company's since I've never owned...

    Best Boots for highcountry hunting

I told myself last year that im tired of chasing little hill country whitetail in my neck of the wood and decided I need more challange so I am starting to hunt out of state more. I will be hunting Colorado this season and my typical Lacrosse rubber boots wont cut it. I've been researching boots...
