    ID this bullet, please

Nosler partition. Looks the the old original 175 but you stated it was a 160. They offered the 160 first. The 175 came years later.

    Max Range for These Groups?

Sounds like you have your load. 150s aren't too much bullet for any deer. I find the 140s to be the best weight to dump all the energy in the deer. Rarely do they exit but more often I find them in the opposite side hide.

    Max Range for These Groups?

Great advice. 120-140s are plenty for a .270 out to 400+ yards. That Tikka should shoot much better. Sounds like it's time for another load.

What can be done with poachers on game cams??

I guess I'm saying if no signs posted, it's tough to prove intent if the trespasser indicates he didn't know he was in private property. I like Ohio's trespass laws. You must have written permission to be on others property. No exceptions. Never saw anyone arrested there but it's clearly in the...

What can be done with poachers on game cams??

He won't get prosecuted if the propertys not posted, gun in arms or not. Once he's warned by the land owner, it's the same as being posted. Posting property is necessary if there exists continual trespass. Personally I do not like posting my property. If it's necessary, I will post. Again, the...

What can be done with poachers on game cams??

Just the box minus the spikes would wreck his day. Only problem with it is the trespasser would more than likely sue the land owner.

What can be done with poachers on game cams??

I had the same issue with bear hunters running there dogs on my lease. It's around 600 acres and hard to monitor. Game cams showed dogs but no hunters. After making contact with the dogs owners, they were cocky and noted their dogs can't read no trespass signs. Not what I wanted to hear I gave...

What can be done with poachers on game cams??

Some LE officers are members of this forum. I'm retired LE and yes a picture will absolutely be beneficial in this process especially if you know the trespasser/poacher. Just the confrontation from a conservation officer together with the picture of him trespassing should be more than enough to...

    243 AI problem

If you have no problem with a slightly tight chamber and possibly an issue with the bolt not closing, you will see the best accuracy with fire formed brass that's not sized other than neck tension. I just can't afford the issues if on a hunt. I do it with my 22-250 AI and never have issues.

Wasn't sure what your use was with the gun. I've had issues with that in deer rifles. Bench/varmint isn't as much a concern. Good luck, hope you figure out what works best

    243 AI problem

That's what FL sizing does. It allows just enough clearance so the bolt closes with zero resistance. I shoot several ackley chambers and use to only neck size. That's ok for the first few loadings but eventually it'll catch up to you. FL neck bushing dies are all I use now. I don't use the...

    243 AI problem

Everything's great when reloading is going ok. Then it's not. Some prefer FL dies some FL bushing dies. There's no discernable difference accuracy wise, only brass life shortens when the necks are stretched too much. I use both dies but prefer FL bushing dies to eliminate that issue. To each...

    243 AI problem

One member states it's more accurate for him to only size half the neck. Being anal as I am, I size the entire neck. My gunsmith cut me a bushing that is long enough to size the entire neck to the shoulder. For me, no accuracy change. Tension tends to be the difference in accuracy in my case.
