I live in Idaho and hunt elk every year. I bought a 338 edge from defensive edge and am thinking of putting in for an elk tag where I would have a better chance at a big bull. Has anyone else here on this forum put in for drawing only units in Idaho?
I was worried it was my scope. I have a nightforce nxs. I'll shoot it again early some morning to be sure. Thanks. I think the mirage must have been worse because it was a warm day and I was shooting over melting snow.
I was checking my 100 yard zero a few days ago. My gun was off to the left an inch so I rezeroed it. There was quite a mirage but I didn't think it would effect me at 100 yards. This afternoon when I was shooting through a chrono my zero was off to the right an inch and a half. Could a mirage...

Thanks do you think applied ballistics is a better option than bullet flight. My range finder gives me pressure, slope angle and temperature. I know there are many factors besides bullet drop. Here is what I've been dealing with. At 1050 yards the calculator is right on. Anywhere in between it...
Thanks I have an I phone. I am thinking about getting the bullet flight app.? Applied ballistics.? I don't plan on hunting extreme ranges any time in the near future but would like to have the right calculator to shoot that far for practice. I shot a five shot group at an old piece of sheet...
Looking for some input on what ballistic calculator I should use. I bought a 338 edge from defensive edge and have a Lica 1600 range finder. I am using the strelok app but am always shooting a little high. The range finder and gun work great and I can shoot a three or four inch group on a good...
