barrel length is not relevant to spin stability other than the velocity it generates. Go to the JBM online twist stability calculator. That one handles plastic tipped as well as all metal bullets.
The amount of powder, primers, etc bought by reloaders is miniscule compared to the amounts bought by governments. We are lucky to get any of what's left.

I shot p-dogs last Thurs on public land with a lot of driving and checking old spots that were now bare and I shot 100 rounds. If we had stayed in one place 200 rounds would have been easy. On private land you can shoot 200 rounds and hit 100 p-dogs in a day easily.
.17 hornet to 250 yds. 17 fireball to 350 yds. .223 to 400 yds. 223 AI to 450 yds. 22-250 to 600 yds. 6mm creedmoore past that. Those cover it for me with 90% being the 17s.
