Testing loads in the heat of sumer

Re: Testing loads in the heat of summer What chamber? I know in my experience, anything hotter than a .243 Win I need to space my 3-shot strings over a minimum of 15 min to get ANY kind of consistency. My .338 RUM and some of my bigger guns I need to give 15 mins between shots when temps get...

    Starting over with 6x284

Being a long time Reloder user, I wouldn't try Reloder 25 in a Short Action, it just seems unneccesary. Reloder 22 and 25 shine in longer casings and heavy bullets. You are on the heavy end for 6mm so you might see good performance with RL 25, but I would be more likely to try Reloder 19 first...

Need help with load workup... Stumped

Just my .02, I might try Load #3 one more time, and see if I get a third group like the first string or the second string. I've had pieces of brass in my .270 that gave me bad results every time I used them and I had to remove them from my lot. I also might try to load six at .060 off and see if...

Replacement trigger for L/H Rem X Mark Pro

If it's the recalled X-mark send it to Remington for replacement with the new adjustable X mark. If it's actually the new adjustable X-mark, adjust it or have it adjusted and call it a day.

    300 rum nickel brass?

I have never been able to find RUM Nickel Brass to attempt loading, but I know in all my other rifles I use exclusively Nickel Brass if possible. For me it has allowed me to load marginally high velocities, it doesn't seem to grow as much as straight brass, and it lasts at least three times...

    Powder for .45 ACP

Sounds good, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I typically load for accuracy as well, the 40 being my CCW is the exception, so I will definitely consider your experience. I am using the kimber mostly as a forest carry/coyote gun right now so accuracy will be key.

    Powder for .45 ACP

Just a quick manual reference and I'm seeing cross-over for 40SW and 45ACP with VV N-350, but not VV N-340. Is N-350 a powder you messed around with at all for load developing the .45ACP, or did you stick with N-340? I'm not as familiar with Vihtavuori powders, so I will need to do more research...

    just messing around

What is your parent case? your title reads as a 6mmRem necked down to .223, but the round looks like a 6x45mm (.223 remington necked up to 6mm), other than the orange tip bullet. If it's a 6x45, it has been done, but it is an excellent deer round in a AR-15 platform, and a very underestimated round.

    Powder for .45 ACP

I know this is an unusual question for a Long Range Forum, but I like the knowledge base from this website. I've used nothing but Blue Dot in all my pistol for years, and have a number of favorite loads with it. However, I bought a Kimber about three years ago and am finally getting around to...

    help 308 reloading info

+1 on the no Retumbo. You can try it and see, but looking at that rifle/bullet combo you may have trouble stabilizing the 175, you may wanna pick up a box of 168 and compare. You should be able to use a pretty slow powder with a 26" .308, so I would look at the three slowest powders in your...

Picking the best powder, powder selection

As Vette stated the bullet weight is a huge factor, but construction does make some slight differences. Nosler info is usually pretty conservative so it is a good starting point. Just start with the bullet weight, and load to the lower end and move up slowy till you know your rifle will handle...

    Priming and depriming.

I'm curious what you mean by Brass? It's possible that you are using a rifle I have never seen since I don't follow Muzzleloaders very closely. Every muzzleloader I have used you charge the muzzle, then attach a primer or firing cap. I'm guessing if you have brass you would need a...

.223 to .221 without new barrel?

I didn't think about the ejection, thank you. I will have to take that into consideration, and maybe a custom gun would be the better choice. I looked at that, but since CZ dropped the .221 from there product line a couple years ago I haven't been able to find too many people willing to...

.223 to .221 without new barrel?

I recently found myself wanting a .221 Fireball for shooting squirrels and yotes on the ranch. I have been looking for rifles and can find very little in the way I wanted to go. I considered building a custom rifle, but since this rifle will see a lot of hard days, I don't see the need to pay...

    Most Accurate AR -15

Six shots at 986yds Larue Custom with 24" HBAR in .223 WYLDE. The first shot completely missed and I used it to set the next five.
