Joined the 1 mile club yesterday!

My opinion is you definitely need a Kestrel. I purchased the basic 5700 and then ended up buying the upgrade to the Elite. My advice is just go ahead and get the Elite. I’m using the Applied Ballistics but I hear the Hornady is good also. Congrats on your accomplishment!

    Going down a 22 rabbit hole…

I have been shooting a RPRR for several years in a couple of 50 and 100 yard benchrest matches per month. Won some lost some. Mine is equipped with a Vortex Venom scope and UTG bipod. It likes Lapua Midas X, Lapua Pistol OSP, and SK in the red box. I shoot in a strictly factory class, so no...

    Ruger American predator

Got to go with Country Bumpkin on this one. My wife has a Ruger Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Nightforce NX8 scope. She shot a target at over 1200 yds twice. Very good at shorter ranges also. Excellent rifle especially for the money.

    Gun for my wife

My wife is also “recoil sensitive” also, so she is shooting a Ruger Predator in 6.5 CM with a NF NX8 scope. Scope is the model C-624 4-32X50. Her longest shot at this point is 1267 yards. Highly recommend the Hornady ELD-M 147 GR if you’re going to shoot factory ammo. Shoots well with my...

    Monstrum Rifle Scopes

Take a serious look at the Vortex Venom 5-25 X 56. FFP. Good to at least a 1000 yds. About $500.00. I have one on my RUGER PR in 300 Win Mag.

What guns would you like to see in a gun raffle?

I like Ol’Reds idea of a lever action. Maybe a Henry in 30/30 win. Also, how about a Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifle and/or a Ruger Pistol Caliber Carbine in 9mm. All are rifles that are just fun to shoot IMO!

How much did you spend on equipment (not supplies) to reload?

I’ve been reloading for over 40 years but even at todays prices getting into reloading is reasonably priced. The RCBS Rock Chucker kit is around $500.00. Dies are mostly $100.00 or so per caliber. The Franklin Armory brass washer is $200.00. Spend extra money on a good reloading manual. I...

    Novice reloader looking for help

Not sure what caused this but it looks like the casing imploded after it was fired. Could it be suction as the bullet left the casing?

Best 6.5 creedmoor hunting rifle for deer

My wife has a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CR. She picked out a Vortex Diamondback scope for it. Really great gun for the money. She was shooting small steel plates at 300 yards last week. Highly recommend this setup for the money.

    Reloading press

Definitely RCBS Rock Chucker! I bought it about 40 years ago and have reloaded thousands of pistol and rifle cartridges with it. Still going strong! If something happened to it today I would buy another.
