yep, hence the "It's a slightly different beast" comment. Too much space in the mag created big issues for me. I do a few things to try to fix it, then moved on to 7mm PRC only to realize I wanted to stick with my 7SS. Moved it to SA and built a 33 Nosler for the LA.

I built my 7SS on a LA and regretted it from the beginning. It is a slightly different beast, but, you will have issues with magazines. Maybe split the difference and go with a Med/XM action? That is what I am thinking when I finally get around to building a 300WSM. Good luck.

I searched for 284 for 2 reasons. 1 - the nomenclature of the 6.5x284 is mixed with 6.5-284 and others and 2 - thought you could neck down 284, but none of that available.
