    Go-to 6.5 Creedmoor ammo

Under what pill? Just curious; I am starting to work up a load under Barnes 127gr LRX pills for my 6.5 CM. I have some factory Hornady ammo I am emptying pig hunting.

    300 Win mag load advice

I did some work with the Sierra 240 VLDs - the results were good, but they were hard on the brass. I am now using the Hornady 208gr A-Maxes and couldn't be happier. They are a tight shooting bullet and good for target or game. I haven't tried them with Reloader 22 yet, but the results with...

    MRE Dinner

I was laughing so hard my boss had to come inspect my computer... We used to joke that we kept a pry bar in the head for the times we came out of the field after a week or two of MREs. lol

    New Ladder test

I understand what your saying/ getting at. I'll be as precise as I can be until I get a more precise scale. I figure if I load each round the same way each time with the same equipment; then that's the best I can do at this time. Just wait till I get a more precise scale.

    Ladder test interpertation

Going off the seating depth test; the -20 and -30 naturally seem to shoot together. That appears to be the area the gun prefers. A seating depth node if you will. Now, with this data in hand - go back to the bench and redo the powder charges with this seating depth. At this point, you just...

    New Ladder test

The only problem with waiting till you have maxed your pressure finding your node is that when you start changing your seating depth you start changing your pressure too. I had to redo a load when I adjusted my seating depth for some 168s. It seems the depth of the bullet will throw your...

    New Ladder test

I'd say retest the low end of the 36 bracket. I noticed that on one test you test from 35.8 to 37 and on the other one you test from 36 to 37.4 gr. I think from the targets your nodes are around the low 36.2-4 range. This is where the testing gets harder... do a couple test with .1 grain...

    Ladder test interpertation

I'll agree that on the right target there appears to be two nodes - as far as vertical dispersion goes. The biggest problem I see is that the left target doesn't have agreeing results. In fact, that target doesn't show any solid nodes for development. At this point I would double check my...

proposal to euthanize horses spurs debate...

Growing up my Dad had a mustang that was a great trail horse and amazing kid horse. Again though - like you said - I'd rather see them put down quickly than starved to death.

proposal to euthanize horses spurs debate...

Many overseas markets love horse meat as table fare. Why should we waste a source of income? Instead of just putting them down - why not ship them over seas to cover the costs of keeping the rest of them? I understand its a brutal idea - but one or two cows have to pay the price for the herd...

    Accuracy with 300 Win Mag.

I'm currently working with the 208gr AMaxes and like the results. Its a suitable target round and good hunting round for the reach of a 300 Win Mag. On a good day I can turn in a paper full of .5 moa and smaller groups. I'm working with 75grs of IMR 7828SSC and getting an average of 2925 fps...

    7828 v. 7828SSC

I'll add a little here... While I haven't been reloading for years - all I reload is my 300 Win Mag and I go through a couple pounds of powder a month. I was using Re22 - but it wasn't giving me good groups with heavier bullets and was leaving a lot of crud in my barrel after 30 shots. I...

Killing Phone Books - Bullet Performance by Ian McMurchy

Only tough because they are printed on animal hides... I don't imagine that they would be real thick from lots of numbers. lol...

    208gr Amax

I'd be happy with an 8" group at 1k out of a stock rifle. Now I'm just more and more eager to get my bullets loaded and tested.

    208gr Amax

Intersting, thanks. I'll have to give it a shot or three. I have a couple boxes of the 208s I'm getting ready to load for my 300 WM. Once I find a load to work with I'll run a decent test to see if I can see a difference.
