I used 210 TTSX in my 338 RUM for Kudu, Hartebeast, Wildebeest and several other animals and it performed perfectly. I also used the 150gr Nosler Partition in my 270WSM for Waterbuck, Bushbuck, and Zebra. No problems there either.
I load the Barnes 110TTSX for my GF in her Vanguard 270WSM. Some might say that it would be marginal for Elk, but at 3400-3500fps I think you would still get some pretty good penetration at reasonable distance without a bunch of recoil.
I have one still in the box in my safe. Waiting until hunting season is over to mount it. Looks like a great scope though. Can't wait to get it on the rifle.
The Vanguard will be a 24" barrel vs. 26" for the Mark V which may cost you a few FPS. The Vanguard is based on the Howa 1500 action and is a very good rifle. Makes a good action for a custom rifle down the road.
Bell and Carlson makes a couple of nice stocks for the Vanguard (same as a Howa 1500). Check out Stocky's stocks. Manners would be another source of quality stocks.

Works great on my 338RUM out to 600yds which is as far as I've shot. I have the 4.5-14x44 Rapid-Z 800. Great hunting reticle though it is a little heavy for serious target shooting.
I use the 130's in my 270WSM and they are great. Recovered on from a steep quartering shot on a deer. Huge expansion and still weighed 117gr. Dropped in his tracks.
The Zeiss Rapid Z is great for hunting, but the reticle subtension is a little heavy for precision paper shooting. I used my 4.5-14X44 Rapid Z 800 in South Africa on a 338 RUM and it worked great. I just ordered a Viper HS LR 4-16X50 for a different rifle. Anxious to try it out.
When shooting groups or doing load development, I usually fire a fouler and wait 3-5 minutes between shots. This not only saves the throat, but gives you the most consistency for load testing. On the other hand, it is good to fire a rapid string on occasion so that you know where your shots...
I shoot a 25/300WSM which is pretty close to the 257wby. I've been shooting the 110AB with both MagPro and RL22 at ~3470fps. Rl22 seems to group a bit tighter. The performace on deer is great. I nailed a 145lb 8pt last year quartering away @ 297yds and he dropped like a rock. Recovered the...
