    Redfield Scopes.

Can't offer an opinion on the new Redfields but I have a fixed 10X AO , SN is 1982 that I bought in a pawn shop for $50 about in 1883 and have had it on my #1 Ruger .220 Swift, WOA AR-15 .223, on my Mod 77 Mk II .220 Rocket and My Savage BVSS .223 and now its on my Ruger M77 Flat Bolt .243...

Follower or clip mag feed for bench accuracy?

Meaning the chambering process in mag feed adds a degree of eccentricity to the round while being delivered to the chamber? I do know mag feeding will move a hand loaded round (bullet) forward from its initial seat and possibly impact the coaxiality. Is that what you mean? Thanks Tom

WOA 26" Match Upper or RRA 24" Bull Barrel Upper

I shoot a WOA on my Colt lower, a 1:7 twist with the double pinned sights. Its a 600 yd MR gun I wouldn't consider anything else. John can fix you up if you can handle the wait. I have a a 1:8 RRA NM and its not quite as predictable but I have no real problems with it other than the sights don't...

AR15 Front Sight ...In front of Scope

That's very interesting and I appreciate the explanation. I will see what happens looking at a distant yard light, its about 200yd away just for fun and see what I notice or must it be at a much greater distance. Thanks again. Tom

Concentricity - setting up dies - runout

It takes a little more time and effort up front to build a round that has no variation in axial relationships than it does to build one that is slightly misaligned. I'll opt for the former. A little more time up front seems to yield more trigger time overall and I do know for certain I don't...

Concentricity - setting up dies - runout

I have to tighten the die anyway so putting the gauge block in-between while doing so doesn't add any time to the process and if some variation can be minimized nothing lost.

Concentricity - setting up dies - runout

It provides the opportunity to create a square and parallel condition between the shell holder, die and ram. It can make a measurable difference so why not take advantage of the simple practice. Its because the two aren't always in good alignment that I do it and it does square it up. I agree...

Concentricity - setting up dies - runout

I have found that placing a 1" square gauge block (not the rectangular style) between the shell holder and the face of the seating die as I tighten the locking ring assures the die is square to the threads and shell holder and the effect is measurable in reduced run-out. I never set up a die...

AR15 Front Sight ...In front of Scope

Will someone explain why the front sight on an AR does not block the view through the scope when the scope is mounted in the same line of sight as the front sight? Seems to me it would mess up the view but I cant see any impact. Weird.

most accurate out of the box factory rifle?

Most accurate out of the box gun is almost too broad to narrow down. Too many qualifiers. To say a Savage shoots like crap would be a misconception but 1 out of 3 does make them a crap shoot (like rolling dice) and that's the reality of it (just my experience) and Ive seen them shoot pretty...
