    From the ballistic charts I have looked at the 7mm-08 out performs the 6.5mm 260 out beyond 600 yrds. The 260 has more match factory ammo available which is a big plus. Neither have the ammo selection that the 308 or 243 Winchester do.

    The 7mm-08 out performs the 308 Winchester in every way. Due to the BC of the 7mm bullet over the 7.62 bullet in certain weights.

    Just one more consideration, the 260 Rem is a 1000yrd max cartridge. The 7mm-08 has been used in competition out to 1500 yrds. It handles wind better than the 6.5mm cartridge. The father out you go the more the 7mm-08 out performs the 6.5. Food for thought.
