What is the most hated deer rifle you owned ?

1956……8mm Level……extractor was broken….had a piece of curtain rod to ram down the barrel to push the fired shell out…might be why i don’t shoot ML’s!!

Peterson Brass Belted Mag Basic Unprimed Box of 50

I’ve made 7STW from 416 REM, 375H&H and 300H&H, as well as the parent the Rem 8mm mag which was the standard before it was commercialized. The 416 is tricky, at least for me, several inserts into a 375 neck die, with plenty of lube, to keep the shoulder from collapsing, then into my 8mag die...

    Shooting after heart surgery

I had 4X bypass on Nov 4 1997 when I was 54. Had the same questions for my surgeon who was an ultra marathoner. He listened carefully, “nothing heavier than 8# and enjoy. I missed PA buck season, killed a doe with my 8# 7X57 from a lawn chair. My buddy drove me to my stand and field dressed...

    need help

I bought a XRS II 4.5 X 30. Not much work yet due to the current situation, but so far, very pleased. It is on a trued 62’ vintage Rem 700 rebarreled to 7 mm - 300 Win Mag, 1 in 8 twist.

    Heavy duplex

I have had a VariX 3 3.5 X 10 on my Rem 700 in 8 mag for about 25 years. It does quite ok. Really like it for up close and no problem if I want to stretch it out. All in what you get used to I guess.

exploding bullets on impact...is this real or are people guessing?

Using Hornaday Light Magnum 139 SST in my 280 Rem Mountain, had one blow up on a shoulder shot on a big whitetail doe. No time to develop a load that year. Hit her shoulder blade and never penetrated. Needed a second shot to put her away. About 150 yards. Finished the box on paper and...

    2019 Saturday deer opener PA.

Like Yobuck been hunting in PA a long time, since 1955.....legally! Grandfather had a farm, started really early....now live in FL for the last 10 years and still make the trek back for bear and deer. Personally, I wish the Commissioners would just leave well enough alone, hunting hours used...
