    Best Long Range Scope???

That 2013 Long range scope buyers guide link was excellent. Thanks for posting it. I am getting toward the end of my build, it is a M700 SPS, 26" heavy barrel in .308 that I want to use for prairie dogs and long range deer hunting. I have had the action and bolt face trued, bedded and just got...

    22-250 IMR 4895 load?

I am in search of recipies for a Hornady 75 gr Match HPBT for my Savage 12LRPV with a 26" barrel and 1 in 9 twist rate using 8208, 4007 SSC and or IMR 4895. Any help would be appreciated.

    Primer cup burn through

I'm thinking thin brass used for the cups because it is happening with my .308 and 22-250. Both are new rifles and I just bought a new bolt face for the Savage 22-250 because it is now pitted like you explained.

    .308 barrel lenght?

I'm not sure about how many lands the barrel has, it's a Savage 12 LRPV. If I plan to get serious about this I should know these things.

    Primer cup burn through

I have been using Remington large rifle 9 1/2 primers for my .308 load. I am loading 42.9 grains of 8208 with a 168 gr HPBT and getting 2507 fps muzzel velocity. It doesn't seem to be a "hot" load and well within reccomendation but the primer cups are burning pin holes through about 20% of the...

    Hit the range today

Our range is set up to go to 200 yards. I will have to do a bit of research to find a place to shoot at the longer distances. I'm sure shooting at those distances will be a challange and a long learning curve. I can see my cross hairs moving with my heart beat at 100 yards. Longer shots will be...
