Another vote for RX2800. Have been using some form of Leupold since the 1970s. Always works. Magnification is nice on 2800, too.

Question about Howa. I understand Weatherby Vanguards are made by Howa, too? I know Randy Newberg really is sold on Howas. What's the opinion of the related Weatherby Vanguards. Maybe in 30-06 for western hunting in a mountain type rifle.

Just my two cents worth on 270 loads. In the 1970s we used to load 61 grains of IMR4831 with a CCI magnum primer and got great accuracy from a Remington 700 BDL and a Ruger M77.
