Looking for my first semi-auto shotgun

I have a lot of experience Waterfowl Hunting, Turkey and Dove hunting. The Beretta A400 Extrema is by far my favorite. It can handle any load, and does so with less recoil than any of the others. Also Winchester SX3 and Browning Maxus are good choices, but, not up to the Beretta level. Even...

    6.5 Creedmoor build 2K budget

    Ha! Now I feel silly!

Ok I am not a big fan of the 6.5 Creedmore

Ha! It seems to be the Democrat ideology. Conservative ideology says that if you don’t like the 6.5 Creedmoor, then don’t buy one. Democratic ideology says if you don’t like the 6.5 Creedmoor, then let’s take it off the market so no one buys one!

OK, My turn on the 6.5 Creedmoor

I agree fully. Add all things together, and it equals a good caliber.

OK, My turn on the 6.5 Creedmoor

Less recoil, bullets with better ballistic coefficients, seem to make it a good caliber........not magic........not a “Goto” caliber for Moose or Elk, but, a good caliber for deer!

OK, My turn on the 6.5 Creedmoor

I agree. Reasons I agree are; A round rock is inherently more accurate than an oblong jagged rock. A a longer heavier bullet with a better ballistic coefficient is inherently more accurate than a shorter, lighter lower ballistic coefficient bullet. Physics makes one inherently more...

    6.5 Creedmoor build 2K budget

What I am confused with is all the replies about Elk when he clearly stated it was for deer. 6.5 Creed is perfectly fine for deer!

    Scope mounting problem

You don't need a rail, although it makes it easier. You can shim the rear mount about 10 thousanths of an inch to 15 thousanths of an inch to get on target. I went through this with Nikon, and found better information on the web than Nikon could offer. If you are using standard mounts, and a...

Any tips and thoughts for a long range rifle?

Remgton came out with the 700 Long Range this year. It comes outfitted with a Bell & Carlson stock, heavy barrel, x-Mark Pro trigger, and you can buy them for about $700.00. I bought one in 300 Win Mag. I love it. With the heavy barrel and the decellerator pad, it is comfortable to shoot...
