Thanks for all the great input guys, I really appreciate it. We are reevaluating our move (man Arkansas sounds great!!). We might delay the move until the kids finish HS, that will give us more options.

I was thinking the same thing. The biggest thing to me is to imparting a love of hunting and adventure to my kids (my 15yo daughter loves going). I'm so encouraging the stories posted on this forum. So grateful!!

Great perspectives and advice, NC was red until the "bathroom bill" and a ton of crazy money from outside the state (and likely outside the country) helped get a crazy elected governor. 100% agree (I figured the suburbs of the bigger cities would be the best places to start the search). Just curious what district are you in?

Thanks. I'm moving from NC (only hunted deer, hogs (in GA) and coyotes so far, so I don't know what I don't know), but my 16 yo and I are in great shape and want to spot and stalk, and backpack hunt.

We are considering moving to Texas near San Antonio, Austin, Dallas or Ft Worth for the schools. I'd like to buy hunting property within an hour or so since I likely won't be able to afford it near those areas. What areas would you recommend for deer and other game? Thanks!
