    Flashlight

Budget plays a huge role in picking "what's best." Additionally, the best flashlight for the outdoors won't necessarily be the best flashlight for general use around your house and workplace (depending on what those environments are, of course). I've used small Streamlight handhelds that work...

    fanny pack

There are a lot of good options out there. I've picked up Mystery Ranch fanny packs of various sizes for cheap at outlet stores like Sierra. For getting started, they're hard to beat. For something more substantial (and costly), Hill People Gear makes some great modular setups. You can have...

    Looking for first pack.

While not specific to the OP's needs, I've found that gear selection is a journey, not a destination. I've been through a lot of packs and other kit trying to fine tune my setups. The biggest thing is to not get too invested into a particular piece of kit unless it really works out well for...

    New from VA

Thanks Mark! I've mostly contributed on other forums with regards to carry guns and ARs, along with training classes. I branched out last year with shotgun training and SPR type AR shooting in competitions. Hopefully I'll read far more than I say!

    Conceal Carry via bino harness?

Another plus for Hill People Gear. Their Recon and Heavy Recon kit bags have webbing on the front, and they also sell binocular pouches that can mount on the front. I've been using their kit bag and various backpacks from them for years. It's all first rate.

    Quantified Performance

Has anyone else here shot Quantified Performance matches? They're mostly SPR/DMR focused. I was able to attend one match at Quantico last year and hope to shoot a few more this year. The match I shot only went out to about 450 yards, but they generally go out further.

New member here, I've lurked for a little. I've also been active on several other forums for years. Looking to learn more as I have dabbled in mid-range shooting last year, and am interested in taking things out a little further (as well as getting better at mid range!). Thanks in advance!

    Virginia gunsmith

WAR Rifles in Manassas Park has done some work for me in the past, and I was always impressed with the bolt guns they've had on the racks. Robb Jensen (formerly of Virginia Arms, now Elite Shooting Sports) recommended them to me.

    Gunbroker sell question

Any updates? I've used Gunbroker a time or two in the past, but there's also what looks like an increase in scammers out there. I'd be careful. The FFL should be easy to find through a third party search like ffldealernetwork or similar site.

    Stink Bugs

I had them really bad in PA, a little less so in Virginia though. I used to shoot them with an airsoft pistol in an old apartment, made for good target practice. Now, I just try to grab them and flush them away. Maybe I could use some more target practice!

Just joined up, looking for some good info. I've been active on other forums for years, but just started on mid to longer range shooting last year. Thanks in advance for any info, and I'll do my best to post little and read a lot!
