I’ve tried HH and Barnes LRX. Both shoot well but I like the way the Barnes mushrooms and stays together creating entry and exit holes. The bullet weight retention is excellent. The HH are made to come apart which could have some merits but not for me. I shoot the LRX 127 in my 6.5 PRC and the...
Thanks all for your reply’s. I believe I will just knock them out. Only about 150-200. May stick a couple in and see if the primers even go off. I figured as dusty as tumbling can be. There would be an issue. 20bucks of primers isn’t worth it.
I bought some pistol brass. It was supposed to be all drprimed. But there is one container with a large amount of 45’s in it with new primers. Only problem is the brass is not very clean. So I don’t want to run it through my press. Has anyone dry cleaned brass with good primers. If so what were...
Folks I found this site the other day. If you are like me and are tired of hunting through drawers every time you change setups. Ordered a few things. Here are a few pics of items. I emailed Jake and worked with him to make some changes and he was very receptive to my needs. The site is a...
I agree some bullets like more neck tension. Some like crimping. Some like none. It’s another tool in your arsenal to help you get the most from your rifle. I found that the Hammer bullets I was testing made improvements from crimping. I used a Lee crimper and started easy and went to full...
I did read an article I believe on here a year or so ago where a guy actually tested holding time on sizing brass and proved at least for his situation that holding the brass up for the count of 3 made better brass. He said it was to let the brass relax against the confines of the die. When you...
A lot of great answers here but the simple is. Any more it has to be a passion. You can still save a little but components are very hard to find at times. It cost a lot to get set up with good equipment and your always buying more LOL. Or it seems so. If you think you can order a few items and...
Well just checked and have 5 boxes of the 4041 lot number. Bought 10 days ago. I’m watching to see your results. I was only planning on using the brass as a last resort.
Was using the Hammer 124gr. Couldn’t quite find a sweet spot. Switched to the Barnes LRX 127gr. Tightened up nicely. Mine likes the RL26 better. The 565 didn’t do bad either. Did not like the 568. Now I have almost 2 lb of it sitting in my powder supply. That’s the game lol.
Has anyone successfully took 300PRC brass down to 7PRC. I’m going to try it. Going to anneal the brass down a little further first. And was thinking of going ahead and cutting it down some before putting through the press. Any thoughts.
