I have a very vivid imagination. I guess I could have said that it sounded like his skull was blown to bits and his brain matter was mush, maybe that's more what it sounded like.

My Father n law just skinned out a coyote I had shot behind the shoulder with a 65' v-max. He found the bullet inside the skin on the far side. It was mushroomed but not fragmented. The coyote was shot at 110 steps with a 6mm WOA. Probably running quite a bit faster than that 6ppc.

I use to use the 75' HP in Hornady's "Custom" loading. They always blew big exit holes in broadside shot coyotes for me and will plain cut a fox in half. YMMV

Thanks for all the help guys. Sounds like I could get by with the CRF just fine. As for any of them working/ not working through snow, I wish I had to worry about that, but we don't seem to be able to get too much of that anymore.

So you were able to get a range directly off the dog at 600? That's not too shabby for where I'm at. There aren't too many opportunities for me to shoot much farther than that anyway but I'd like to be prepared when the shot presents itself ya know. Thanks again.

I was just talking about the reticle in the rangefinder. Wondering if the one in the Lieca wouldn't be better for what I'm wanting. I thought the reticle in the Swaro might be a drawback for rangeing something the size of a dog at those ranges. Most of them would be in wide open, flat places...

I realize the Swaro's are probably my best bet. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to range coyotes at 6,7,800 yds with them. Would the reticle be a the drawback or am I just asking for too much? Thanks.
