My thoughts, although I am unable to prove it, is that once the case and neck are blown out by cartridge detonation to the chamber wall, that the bullet would not be impacted by any small discrepancies in neck wall thickness variance. That is why I don't neck turn typically in a no-turn neck...

That's an interesting way to adjust neck sizing, which I have never tried. I have been using a washer/spacer in my Harrel's sizing dies, which gives a more precise/repeatable length of neck sizing each time for me.

I don't think that the AMP press gives us much insight about neck tension on the bullet, but rather about the frictional force of bullet seating. How does one measure static tension on the bullet? I believe that it would require some way of measuring hoop tension of the neck, and I am not...

So I am curious how practical it is to adjust neck tension by varying the length of the neck being sized. How would someone precisely adjust this on sizing die or a neck die? For me, if the bushing "rattles" a little when I shake the die, I call it good. But I believe that Redding makes a die...

I have certainly done this, but also before I even get to bullet seating, I use a expander mandrel. If there is a significant variation in the force used to expand the neck, that case is culled.
