    Help w/ scope mount

The Burris Signature Zee rings can be found on sale at Midway for $24.95, according to the December catalog, #198. www.midwayusa.com. I like them a lot. Take a look at the insert kit that lets you put MOA corrections into the rings.

    6mm Blues

Hot dawg, I get to keep my hair a little longer (not much longer; the drain gets most of it). Thanks for reporting back. I'd rather be wrong and know it than never know what happened. 1/4 MOA (maybe less) coming up!

    6mm Blues

Well, I'm an idjit. I saw where it said "6mmRem," and you know, I thought it was a 6mm Remington 700.... One more clamping issue with the Mausers: There might be round cylinders of metal around the screws that go up from the triggerguard toward the bottom of the receiver and the recoil lug. If...

    6mm Blues

Right now would be a good time to say I don't know much about Remington actions. My best theory about what the rifle is doing is that the barrel is slapping the stock on firing. The zero-clearance full-length bedding is letting this happen because it is so close to the barrel. So out it goes...

    Recoil Pad Question

Probably nothing better than a Pachmayr F990. Around an inch thick, just like a marshmallow. I've got one on a .300 Win. Mag, and on a .338-.378. I get them from Brownells. If you run over to Accuratereloading.com, you'll see that Robgunbuilder put one one the back of his just completed .600 OK...

    6mm Blues

Well, the 70-grainers ought to shoot with that twist at least. First thing to do is to check and make sure all the scope mounting screws are tight. That includes the ring screws, the dovetail clamp screws and the base screws. Sounds like you already did that. Barrel screwed into receiver...

    P-14 action for 338 Lupua?

I have three P-14's built up into rifles. One is a .300 Win. Mag., one is a .338-.378, and one is a .510-.505 Gibbs. The actions seem to be sufficiently strong and stiff. The .300 Win. Mag has a 1.25" dia. untapered barrel that is free floated from about an inch in front of the recoil lug, and...
