Are they hand loads of factory ammo? Could be that brand in that weight, if you shoot enough and try different loads and brands you can narrow down what your rifle likes. Just my two cents, good luck! gun)

I just put my vtr in a bob hart thumbhole stock and it is shooting pretty good now. Just loaded some 50 gr v-max with imr 8208 xbr with impressive groups but gona try with less powder and try again. Anybody shooting this rifle ?

Try seirra 55 grain BTHP Game Kings. Im tring them with imr 8208xbr tomorow but with imr 4064 35.2 gr shot thru my 700 vtr grouped extremely well.
