Mine is a Winchester 70 Featherweight in 6.5x55 factory rifle. Shoots honest 1" or better groups and is a joy to shoot. Second would be a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. More for sentimental reasons than anything else.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the short answer is that standard 6.5-06 will not be a problem so I will spring for the a.i. barrel.

I have used both 120 Sierra's and 129 Hornady sst's in my 6.5x55 and both have worked wonderfully. I've shot several deer from 20 yds to 100 yds, which is about as far as I can see from any of my stands on the hunting club. Both bullets have turned innards to jelly and I have never recovered one.
