    Heavy Barrel Savage B-mag Accuracy

My B-mag story. Bought standard one last year, and head space was off. Kept splitting cases and I sent it back. Upgraded to the bull barrel, mounted a cheap Vortex 6x18, and with Winchester $16.99 ammo it wouldn't group. Now, this was a rifle that grouped .75 in for the Savage engineers. Skip...

Savage B.Mag 17 Winchester Super Mag Teardown

Oregon, I didn't mean to jump on you. If you read my first report, I had ammo that had tabs on the case mouth that stuck up. I did return the cases and rest of one box, and Winchester sent me $25. It seems that there are variables in ammo and weapon both. Tough to fix the problem with so many...

Well, Savage had my b-mag for 6 weeks so I called them today. It had terrible accuracy, split cases and the stock was not free floating. They said they were going to replace it with one that the engineers checked first. I asked if I could have the bull barrel model instead, and got it for $50...

Savage B.Mag 17 Winchester Super Mag Teardown

I forgot to mention the trigger guard. The first time I put it back on, it almost broke, and was weakened substantially. I called Savage, and they sent a replacement(no charge) that was more sturdy.

Savage B.Mag 17 Winchester Super Mag Teardown

My B-mag saga: Picked one up at Cabelas in Billings, took it home and soon found that barrel was not free floating. Called and was told to send the stock, so sent it at my cost. I emailed 10 days later, and was told that it should have been shipped for free by Savage. Lady sent 2 mags to cover...
