A friend of mine has recently done exactly what you suggest, the rifle now has a 26" Trueflite barrel and during his first range session shot an average .4 for 5 shot groups with Norma factory ammo- makes you wonder why I reload... Feeds like a dream and you can carry spare mags for bomb ups on...

Hi Travis I use them in my 280, and get 2840fps with outstanding accuracy with 57g of N560 and Russian primers. The Amaxes are a superb deer sized game bullet and are the reason I picked the 280 as a cartridge- enough velocity, great accuarcy and dead reliable feeding. Regards Ross

I have just rebarrelled my Tikka 22.250 to a 6-250, and intend to shoot 87g Vmax projectiles for varmints and mid range goats, Sika deer etc. Does anybody have load data, preferably using Varget(ADI2208) or ADI2209? I will probably be using Winchester brass, and either Fed or Russian primers...

I have used the 162g A Max on red and sika deer out to 670 yards, out of a 280 Rem and haven't had anything move more than 25 yards so far. I think they are a superb bullet for small and mid sized deer (so far nothing really big has stepped out..) and have had great accuracy and no complaints...
